How we started.
Adrian and Jasmin Joy are a husband wife team who are committed in bringing hope to children in villages across India, by using creative arts and the transforming power of the Bible. Children face many challenges and are exposed to many social impediments that rob them of their innocence and purity therefore, Adrian and Joy through the vision of Joy Company, endeavour to restore Living Hope and the True Joy that will bring children to the Light.
Adrian hails from South Africa and has been involved with children on a social and professional level for over twenty years. He holds a post graduate degree in Christian Leadership and Theology and with his passion he has worked with many key people in the creative arts field exploring and defining an indigenous way in which to use the medium of creativity with Scripture to reach out to children. Adrian has also been involved extensively in India for the past ten years, helping many people and organizations who work with children.
A series of DVDs have also been produced which has been distributed extensively to various people groups with various teaching methodologies. Mike Dove from South Africa, a prominent exponent in puppetry has mentored Adrian and guided him in being established as one of South Africa’s premier children’s entertainers. Joy Company is the heart and passion of the late Mike Dove and this vision has now been extended internationally reaching out to many children.
Jasmin Joy hailing from Southern India has been a field social worker for many years before being married to Adrian. Jasmin Joy has many years of experience in working with people groups of various social and economic backgrounds from the metro to the village and holds two theological degrees. This experience is now part of the fruit of Joy Company and as a powerful asset she is using her knowledge and skills for greater worth. Jasmin Joy is also multilingual which helps in communicating with various peoples groups within our area of influence. It is also amazing to note that long before Adrian and Joy have been joined together as husband and wife, Joy Company had been established which further confirms the mission and vision of its purpose.
Our primary focus is to reach out to those in villages where people are seldom ministered to. Our first stream of outreach is to children. This is done by the mobilizing of people and organizations that have a passion to work with children, with the hope of restoring children's innocence and joy by leading them to the Light of Christ.
We want to equip and develop those who are called to Children's Ministry with teaching Scripture to children and as well as skills in the creative arts such as puppetry, storytelling, drama, and the creative use of balloons and visual art. Those who have been equipped will be trained and developed as leaders to train others. We want to see a multiplication of workers and groups that will reach out to children effectively.
